Philipp Lersch, M.Sc.
I am a PhD student at the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, working and researching at the Department of Computer Science as part of the workgroup "Software Technology: Programming Distributed Systems".
My research targets distributed systems with a focus on relaxed consistency assumptions as seen in CRDTs.
I also work on various projects inside and outside my main research area. A selection is listed below.
Otherwise, I assist in lectures and supervise bachelor and master students in projects, seminars and theses.
Research
- PhD Topic: “Mixed Consistency in Distributed Data Storage”, Explores the use of CRDTs combined with similar concepts like consensus protocols in the context of generic distributed data storage.
- Workshop Paper: “Directed Acyclic Graph CRDTs” for EuroSys 2025: Proposes a generic graph CRDT.
Projects
- CRDT Showcase: A small simulator to play with Conflict-free Replicated Data Types (CRDT). Available through Git.
- Digital Exams: We offer on-site exams with fully digital and secure working environments for our own lectures and other workgroups.
- AI in Exams: Feasibility testing of AI application and infrastructure.
